Stones are how you turn an ordinary sword into your sword. They come in three colours, each doing a different job, and four tiers, each rarer and stronger than the last.
| Colour | What it does when you imbue it |
|---|---|
| Black | Raises the item's main stat and adds a +1 to its name: damage on weapons, defense on armor and capes, attack rating on hats, critical hit on shoes, max life on rings and max mana on necklaces. |
| White | Adds a bonus stat: damage, defense, attack rating, max life, max mana, life or mana recovery, or critical hit. Normally the bonus is random. White stones can't be used on capes. |
| Red | Lowers one of the item's requirements (level, strength, stamina, dexterity or energy), so you can wear it sooner. |
From weakest to strongest (and most common to rarest):
| Tier | Black | White | Red | Imbue bonus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stone | Black Stone | White Stone | Red Stone | +1% success |
| Crystal | Black Crystal | White Crystal | Red Crystal | +5% success |
| Jewel | Black Jewel | White Jewel | Red Jewel | +15% success |
| Best Jewel | Best Black Jewel | Best White Jewel | Best Red Jewel | +25% success |
Higher tiers also push the stat up further. Then there are the powders (Black Powder, White Powder, Red Powder): 22 powders of one colour make one Stone at the Alchemist.
Stones are meant to be rare and exciting. Every monster has a small chance to drop one:
You can also build stones up: JinHyun's Compound turns 3 Stones into a Crystal and 5 Crystals into a Jewel.
Any shopkeeper with an Imbue option (Weapon Shop, Clothing, Sundry Shop, Jewel Shop, General Shop) can imbue your weapons, armor, hats, shoes, rings, necklaces and capes. Imbuing costs no Jeon, only the stones.
The odds (current alpha numbers):
Example: a +5 sword with three Black Crystals is 75 + 15 - 20 = 70%.
We're still comparing the imbue numbers with the original game, so they may change during the alpha.
The Alchemist's Combine can turn a plain stone into a special one with a fixed effect:
It's a gamble, though: Combine works about half the time and the stone is lost when it fails.
Coming later: stone enhancers (Unusual adjuvants, Reinforcing agents and the elemental Crystal series) aren't in the alpha yet.
